New Delhi, July 13 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta, is set to spearhead the Teej celebrations in the city, with the government planning a vibrant Teej Mela from July 25 to 27. This event aims to foster women empowerment, cultural richness, and community unity, and will take place at Delhi Haat, Pitampura. The monsoon festival will officially kick off with an inauguration by CM Gupta on July 25.
On July 26, a spectacular celebrity night is in store, showcasing performances from renowned artists. Over the three days, attendees can expect a fair filled with folk dances, music, magic shows, and various cultural displays, all contributing to the joyous atmosphere.
The Chief Minister expressed on Sunday that the mela will celebrate India’s rich cultural heritage, the power of women, and traditional arts, ensuring there’s something for every age group.
To make the 2025 Teej Mahotsav truly remarkable, the venue will be adorned with theme-centric decorations. The space will embody the traditional Teej spirit, featuring 3D entry gates, colorful chandeliers, buntings, hanging lights, along with LED and spot lighting, as stated by an official release.
Guests will also experience a modern twist with digital attractions at the venue, including at least three themed selfie booths, one equipped with Augmented Reality (AR). Furthermore, there will be AI-assisted mehndi design selection and on-the-spot application.
The Chief Minister noted that approximately 80 stalls will be available to showcase traditional arts and crafts, featuring items such as handicrafts, ethnic apparel, bangles, block printing, embroidery, mehndi, and traditional cuisines.
Various competitions and stage performances will be organized to promote women’s involvement, including activities like mehndi, rangoli, bindi decoration, Teej Queen, a Teej quiz, and slogan writing competitions, all with enticing prizes for the winners.
On July 27, a special ‘Women in Green’ fashion walk will take place, leading to the selection of Miss Teej 2025.
The fair will offer swings and engaging activities for women throughout the day, alongside workshops focusing on women empowerment, health, and societal issues. Daily storytelling sessions centered around Teej will enrich cultural knowledge and preserve traditions.
The festival will also present live demonstrations of traditional crafts like pottery, bangle-making, weaving, block printing, and embroidery, providing visitors with an up-close look at artisanal skills.
