How Will Delhi Minister Launch a Campaign to Inform People About SC/ST Schemes?

New Delhi, May 6 (NationPress) Delhi's Minister for Social and SC/ST Welfare, Ravinder Indraj Singh, has directed officials to initiate a campaign aimed at raising awareness among marginalized communities regarding various government schemes. In a recent meeting, he assessed the progress of the Protection of Civil Rights Act 1955, the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, and the Inter-caste Marriage Incentive Scheme, issuing crucial directives.

The minister underscored the necessity for extensive awareness efforts to safeguard the rights of SC/ST communities and ensure justice for them.

He urged the department to utilize audio-visual media effectively for outreach, ensuring that legal provisions are accessible to all societal segments.

Ravinder Indraj also highlighted that in instances of inter-caste marriages, the department must diligently provide necessary support and financial assistance to those affected, adhering to the established guidelines.

He reiterated the need for ongoing efforts to guarantee justice and relief through collaboration between the department and law enforcement agencies.

Furthermore, Ravinder Indraj instructed the department to prepare for the upcoming convening of the State Level Vigilance and Monitoring Committee, which will be chaired by the Chief Minister in July.

He also stressed the importance of enhancing departmental coordination to facilitate regular meetings of the Vigilance and Monitoring Committees at both the District Magistrate (DM) and Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) levels.

Earlier, Delhi PWD Minister Parvesh Verma directed officials to ensure that the city's infrastructure is ready for the monsoon, with public pathways cleared of encroachments.

Verma led a video conference with all District Magistrates (DMs) and Public Works Department officials, aiming to develop a timely and coordinated strategy.

The meeting's agenda focused on removing illegal encroachments from PWD roads and footpaths while bolstering the ongoing cleanliness initiative under the special monsoon preparedness campaign.

The Minister emphasized that while these roads fall under the Public Works Department, achieving this mission requires seamless cooperation among all involved agencies, including the district administration, Delhi Police, MCD, and other civic bodies.

He instructed all DMs to collaborate with the Special Task Force (STF) and District Task Force (DTF) to ensure public spaces are cleared promptly.

“While PWD roads are the primary focus, effective execution will only be possible when all branches of the administration work together,” the Minister stated.
