Jaipur, March 10 (NationPress) The Central Intelligence Training Institute (CITI), located in Jaipur, hosted a one-day workshop titled "Standardisation of Police Training Curriculum" on its premises on Monday. This event aimed to address the modernisation, harmonisation, and enhancement of police training curricula across various states.
The workshop featured insights from retired IPS officer K. Vijay Kumar, who chairs the apex committee of CITI. It brought together DGPs from Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Goa, alongside senior DGs, ADGs from different states, and officials from the Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR&D) and other central police organisations.
During the workshop, the significance of police training and the necessity for ongoing improvements were highlighted. The Union Home Ministry is proactively involved in modernising police training and ensuring consistency across all levels.
Under the initiative of BPR&D, a committee led by K. Vijay Kumar has been formed to supervise training reforms. Sub-committees focusing on indoor, outdoor, infrastructure, and manpower training have also been established, and feedback on the newly developed training syllabus is being collected for submission to the Home Ministry for review and implementation throughout the states.
Amandeep Singh, Director of CITI (BPR&D), Jaipur, emphasized that police training remains a top priority, with ongoing enhancements being made in accordance with government directives.
The standardised curriculum aims to ensure that police forces across states adopt a modern, unified training framework for more efficient law enforcement.
In sharing details about the workshop, Amandeep Singh remarked that training holds utmost importance within policing, and continuous improvements are being pursued. He stated, "The Union Home Ministry is placing significant emphasis on enhancing such training. The Home Ministry prioritizes the modernisation and standardisation of training at all levels of police. Consequently, BPR&D has constituted a committee chaired by retired K. Vijay Kumar. This committee has established sub-committees for indoor, outdoor, infrastructure, and manpower training. Feedback is being gathered through the syllabus created during the workshop. The insights from this process will be compiled and forwarded to the Home Ministry, enabling all states to adopt and advance police training uniformly and modernly."
