Patna, Sep 11 (NationPress) In light of the ongoing unrest in Nepal linked to the Gen Z movement, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal reassured that Indians stranded in the neighboring country should not feel alarmed, as the Government of India is diligently overseeing the situation.
During his official visit to Bihar’s capital, Goyal stated that the Centre has already set up a helpline and maintains regular communication with the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu.
“I spoke with our ambassador in Nepal yesterday. Our government has a proven history of evacuating Indians, even amidst conflicts. If any Indian encounters difficulties, the embassy stands ready to assist,” he remarked.
The minister expressed optimism that tranquility and stability would soon be restored in Nepal, which has recently experienced violent protests, acts of arson, and assaults on governmental establishments.
Numerous Indian nationals are reportedly returning to India amid the unrest.
While addressing the media at the BJP state office in Patna, Goyal also launched a pointed critique of RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, accusing them of remaining silent in the face of inappropriate remarks made about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mother from an opposition platform.
“These leaders have not issued any apologies. The truth is, they lack respect for women,” he stated.
In a jab at Congress’s reluctance to endorse Tejashwi Yadav as a Chief Minister candidate, he added, “Even if his name is announced, nothing will alter. No one can compete with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The NDA will once again govern Bihar.”
Emphasizing the Centre’s dedication to Bihar’s progress, Goyal announced the green light for two significant infrastructure projects, including the Mokama–Munger four-lane road and the doubling of the Bhagalpur–Dumka rail line.
A total of Rs 4,447 crore will be invested in these initiatives, he stated. “Bihar is advancing swiftly under the double-engine government, and citizens will once again choose the NDA. There will never be a return to Jungle Raj,” he asserted.
