New Delhi, Nov 29 (NationPress) The Election Commission of India (ECI) has called upon citizens nationwide to provide their insights aimed at improving its newly-created ECINet digital platform. As per the ECI press release issued on Saturday, the election authority has initiated a month-long period, from November 27 to December 27, during which users can download the ECINet mobile application and offer feedback via the specific "submit a suggestion" feature.

The ECINet App, currently undergoing trials, was utilized during the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 and several recent bye-elections.

“This innovative platform has allowed for enhanced voter services, faster access to polling percentage trends, and the publication of Index Cards within 72 hours post-election, a process that previously took weeks or even months,” the ECI mentioned in its press release.

“Insights gathered from the Bihar elections, along with feedback from CEOs, DEOs, EROs, Observers, and field officials, are being integrated to further refine the platform’s capabilities,” it stated.

The ECI emphasizes that all suggestions collected during the feedback phase will be assessed before the App is officially updated, with its formal launch scheduled for January 2026.

This initiative is part of the Commission’s wider strategy to enhance transparency and bolster voter convenience through digital advancements.

The project is spearheaded by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, alongside Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi.

Development of ECINet commenced shortly after its formal introduction on May 4, 2025.

Designed as a comprehensive platform, the ECINet App amalgamates nearly 40 election-related services and websites into one streamlined interface.

“The ECINET App is a single, integrated application for citizens, bringing together the previously separate 40 election-related applications/websites such as the Voter Helpline App (VHA), cVIGIL, Saksham, Polling Trends (Voter Turnout App), and Know Your Candidate (KYC) App into a singular interface,” it stated.

The App is available for download on both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

Point of View

I believe that the ECI's initiative to gather public feedback for the ECINet App is a significant step toward enhancing electoral transparency and engagement. By involving citizens in the development process, the ECI not only empowers voters but also demonstrates a commitment to modernizing electoral services. This approach aligns with the growing trend of digital innovation in governance, ensuring that the electoral process remains relevant and accessible to all.
