New Delhi, Feb 13 (NationPress) Experts emphasized that technology should act as a servant, not a master, during the third episode of Pariksha Pe Charcha 2025 on Thursday.

In this episode, Radhika Gupta, CEO of Edelweiss Asset Management, and Technical Guruji Gaurav Chaudhary engaged with students about optimizing technology usage without becoming overly reliant on it.

Gupta stated, "When our skills are overshadowed by technology, it poses a concern. I prefer technology to serve me instead of dominating my work," she remarked.

She expressed her reluctance to depend on AI for tasks, stating that she would rather complete them independently, even if it requires more time.

"Writing is my passion. I enjoy crafting sentences and playing with language -- I don’t want AI to generate an 800-word essay for me; I prefer to do it myself. I constantly remind myself not to depend on AI for this, even if it takes longer..." Gupta added.

Chaudhary pointed out that while technology simplifies our lives, it has gradually led to increased dependency, impacting our ability to remember basic information like phone numbers.

"Our reliance on technology should not reach a level that it compromises our skills, creativity, and fundamental essence," he remarked.

Regarding AI's role in classrooms, the experts suggested that its application should be limited to demonstrating examples.

"The teacher's duty is to impart wisdom and experience. For instance, an English teacher can use AI to show exemplary writing in the classroom, but ultimately, the teacher must guide its usage," Chaudhary stated.

"Consider AI as an assistant capable of fulfilling tasks without demanding a salary..." he added.

Gupta also highlighted how this year’s ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ addressed contemporary issues such as AI and mental health, which were not prevalent two decades ago.

"Platforms like ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ offer students a platform to discuss mental health, time management, and technology-related challenges amidst the significant stress they face in today's rapid-paced environment," she noted to IANS.

Gupta commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his ability to motivate individuals, be they athletes or professionals, by connecting with them as a friend and source of inspiration.
