New Delhi, July 23 (NationPress) The Election Commission announced on Wednesday that 98.01 percent of electors in Bihar are now accounted for in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) initiative.
Currently, there are reports of 20 lakh deceased electors, with 28 lakh having permanently migrated. Additionally, 7 lakh electors were discovered to be registered in multiple locations and 1 lakh were marked as untraceable, according to the ECI.
The Election Commission reported that it has received and digitized 7.17 crore Enumeration Forms, representing 90.89 percent of the state's electors. However, 15 lakh forms remain unreturned.
On July 20, the lists of incorrectly included electors and those who did not return their Enumeration Forms were provided to 1.5 lakh Booth Level Agents (BLAs) appointed by the district presidents of the 12 major political parties in Bihar.
Bihar electors who are temporarily residing outside the state and are not registered elsewhere can submit their forms online at https://electors.eci.gov.in, via the ECINet mobile app, or by filling out a printed form. The completed and signed printed form can be sent to the respective Booth Level Officer (BLO) through a family member or via WhatsApp.
Electors who have submitted their Enumeration Forms will see their names included in the Draft Electoral Roll, set to be published on August 1, which will mark the conclusion of the first phase of SIR. Electors can track the status of their form at: https://electors.eci.gov.in/home/enumFormTrack.
SMS alerts have been dispatched to electors whose mobile numbers were listed on their forms.
In case of any discrepancies found in the Draft Roll, electors or political parties can lodge objections with the relevant ERO or AERO by September 1. Likewise, eligible individuals whose names are not present can also file claims until the same date.
The Election Commission has called upon citizens to participate actively in the verification process of electoral rolls. The final roll will be pivotal in shaping the democratic landscape of Bihar.
