New Delhi, Jan 25 (NationPress) Leaders from the Himachali community in Delhi declared their support for the BJP during the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, an event held in the presence of former Union Minister and MP from Hamirpur, Anurag Singh Thakur.

This expression of backing for the BJP by residents from Himachal Pradesh living in Delhi took place during a celebration marking the 55th anniversary of Himachal Pradesh Statehood Day at Thakur's residence in the capital.

More than 1,000 Himachali migrants participated in the event, where community leaders committed to voting for the BJP in the Delhi Assembly elections scheduled for February 5.

During his speech, BJP National President and Union Minister J.P. Nadda remarked: “The people of Himachal are esteemed for their integrity, fairness, and adherence to the law. Himachal Pradesh has significantly contributed to India's progress, a source of both pride and strength for us.”

Nadda criticized the AAP government for creating turmoil in Delhi over the last decade.

Arvind Kejriwal and his administration have brought immense challenges to Delhi and shattered all records of corruption, despite being elected on anti-corruption pledges. Numerous AAP leaders are imprisoned due to corruption, and even Kejriwal himself is out on bail. I call upon everyone to vote for the BJP on February 5 and assist us in establishing a robust government with a decisive victory,” he stated.

Thakur added: “The AAP and Kejriwal are facing defeat, as shown by Kejriwal’s evident frustration and agitation. The BJP is poised to secure a two-thirds majority in Delhi, as Kejriwal’s government has been completely exposed.”

“A few years ago, Kejriwal vowed to cleanse the Yamuna and take a holy dip in it. Today, the citizens of Delhi are prepared to reject his false promises. The air is polluted, water is unsafe, and garbage piles remain. This time, the people of Delhi will entirely eliminate the AAP,” the former Union Minister declared.

“Himachalis have gained a global reputation through their hard work and commitment. Himachal Foundation Day serves as a reminder for us to unite and pledge to uplift our state's rich culture, traditions, and illustrious history,” he concluded.

The event saw attendance from Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, MPs Bansuri Swaraj, Suresh Kashyap, Indu Goswami, Rajeev Bhardwaj, Yogendra Chandolia, Mayank Bhai Nayak, former MP Virendra Kashyap, and MLAs Hansraj and Prakash Rana, alongside former ministers Govind Thakur and Rakesh Pathania.
