Jaipur, Aug 12 (NationPress) Mohan Bhagwat, the Sarsanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), stated on Tuesday that India is a nation that bestows upon the world the essence of dharma and is dedicated to the betterment of humanity.
“Our Vedas encompass all scriptures, and the ascetic practices of our sages have empowered our nation,” he remarked.
Bhagwat made these comments during the Shri Siyapiya Milan Samaroh, held to commemorate the first death anniversary of Brahmalin Pujya Rewasa Peethadheeshwar Swami Raghavacharya Vedanti Maharaj at the Shri Jankinath Bada Mandir in Rewasa Dham, Sikar.
He also inaugurated a three-foot-tall marble statue of Swami Raghavacharya and opened the newly built Gurukul Bhawan.
In emphasizing India's historical significance, Bhagwat pointed out that since ancient times, Bharat has illuminated the world with the principles of truth, spirituality, and humanity.
“Throughout periods of both prosperity and hardship, this mission has persisted. Whenever the world is in dire need, India responds,” he stated.
Reflecting on the period following independence, he acknowledged that many questioned India's capacity to maintain democracy, yet it not only endured but also thrived.
“Today, India stands as one of the leading democratic nations globally,” he affirmed.
By quoting spiritual teachings, Bhagwat highlighted the unity of all beings, asserting that this perspective should be embraced as a national goal.
In remembrance of Swami Raghavacharya, he portrayed him as a compassionate saint who dedicated his life to Sanskrit and culture, advocating for equality.
“Saints like Raghavacharya Maharaj endure through their contributions, their spiritual discipline, and the legacies they create,” he expressed, emphasizing that the Rewasa Peeth will continue to inspire the community with its ethos of service and unity.
