New Delhi, Oct 8 (NationPress) The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has successfully apprehended Imran, a notorious interstate criminal, who had been evading capture since 2017, linked to a significant robbery case in Jaipur.
Following a tip-off, law enforcement officials captured him in Palwal, Haryana, where he had been living incognito while working as a truck driver.
Imran has been implicated in multiple robbery incidents and was facing a bounty of Rs 5,000 for his arrest. After his capture, the Rajasthan Police has initiated legal actions and taken him into custody for further questioning.
The operation was executed by a dedicated team from the Delhi Police’s Crime Branch, including Inspector Rakesh Kumar, SI Amit Grewal, Narendra Singh, ASI Kamal, and Head Constables Dinesh, Irshad, and Nahan.
The criminal activities trace back to April 21, 2017, when an FIR was filed at Murlipura police station in Jaipur. Imran and his gang intercepted a truck in Murlipura, took the driver hostage, and stole plastic granules valued at Rs 40 lakh. Following the robbery, they abandoned both the driver and the truck in a remote area.
In a focused effort to capture fugitives involved in serious crimes, the Delhi Police Crime Branch activated its informant network to locate Imran.
Based on new intelligence received on Wednesday, the team executed a raid in Palwal, where Imran was allegedly preparing to depart for Kolhapur. He was caught just before he could escape.
Imran has several cases registered against him in Rajasthan, including those at Ajmer’s Kishangarh police station and Jaipur’s Murlipura police station.
The Rajasthan Police is currently interrogating him, and he has reportedly admitted to several crimes while providing insights about his gang members.
Police teams are now being organized to pursue the remaining accomplices involved in these crimes.
