New Delhi, May 20 (NationPress) Union Minister Giriraj Singh has responded to Congress leader Jairam Ramesh regarding his criticism of the government's multi-party global outreach for counter-terrorism, asserting that individuals like him perceive politics in the anti-terrorism initiative and propagate unfounded claims.
In an interview with IANS, Giriraj Singh remarked, “Whether it’s Jairam Ramesh, Kharge ji, or Rahul Gandhi, commenting on them is not fitting as they make baseless assertions. Today, Pakistan is being unveiled globally, which is precisely what is necessary. If Jairam Ramesh perceives politics in this endeavor, so be it.”
He reaffirmed the Indian government’s dedication to combating terrorism, citing ongoing initiatives like Operation Sindoor.
The Minister emphasized, “Pakistan is a terrorist state. It harbors and endorses terrorism. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has clearly stated that our aim is to eradicate terrorism and its perpetrators. Operation Sindoor is integral to that objective. It remains active.”
Addressing Pakistan’s hostility, Singh added, “When Pakistan assaults civilian regions and then pleads to the global community, we are justified in proclaiming the truth worldwide, that our focus is on terrorism, not civilians.”
On Sunday, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh criticized the selection of MPs for delegations as “cheap politics” and accused the government of “politicizing” by excluding names suggested by the Opposition for the all-party parliamentary delegation. He also criticized Prime Minister Modi for allegedly disparaging Congress abroad while seeking assistance from the party to convey messages to those nations.
Giriraj Singh also sharply rebutted West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s previous comments regarding Bangladeshi infiltrators, accusing her of prioritizing electoral gains over national safety.
“Mamata Didi brazenly states, ‘Who will expel Bangladeshi infiltrators while I’m present?’ Her concept of nationalism appears to be connected to her electoral base. Her political agenda seems centered around safeguarding infiltrators, and that sums it up,” he remarked.
