Jammu, Nov 23 (NationPress) The Lieutenant Governor (L-G) of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, issued directives on Sunday to the security forces, advocating a comprehensive 360-degree strategy to combat terrorism. This strategy involves extensive actions targeting terror financing, narcotics-terrorism connections, overground workers (OGWs), and sympathizers to effectively dismantle the entire support network of terrorists.
On Saturday, L-G Sinha convened a critical meeting to assess the security landscape in the Jammu division.
Prominent attendees included Atal Dulloo, Chief Secretary; Nalin Prabhat, Director General of Police; S.J.M. Gillani, Special Director General of Coordination, Jammu and Kashmir Police Headquarters; Chandraker Bharti, Principal Secretary of Home; Nitish Kumar, CID Additional Director General of Police; Mandeep K. Bhandari, Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor; Bhim Sen Tuti, Jammu Inspector General of Police (IGP); Ramesh Kumar, Jammu Divisional Commissioner; M. Suleman Choudhary, Traffic IGP; as well as Deputy Inspector Generals of Police, Deputy Commissioners, and Senior Superintendents of Police from Jammu division.
L-G Sinha lauded the Jammu and Kashmir Police for their thorough investigations and swift responses in dismantling the national terror network.
"Our 360-degree approach to counter-terrorism, including significant crackdowns on terror financing, narcotics-terror links, OGWs, and sympathizers, aims to dismantle the full support structure of terrorists," he stated.
He further asserted that, "Our coordinated efforts will ensure the complete eradication of any remnants of the terror ecosystem from Jammu and Kashmir."
L-G Sinha urged officials to stay alert and attentive to emerging security challenges.
He underscored a strict zero tolerance policy against terrorism and directed officials to take robust actions against terror sympathizers, OGWs, and elements attempting to radicalize youth.
He also called for intensified intelligence-driven operations against terrorists and collaborative efforts to monitor digital platforms exploited by terror outfits for radicalization and funding.
This security review meeting occurred in the wake of the November 10 explosion near the Red Fort in Delhi, where a terrorist detonated an explosive-laden vehicle, resulting in the deaths of 15 civilians and injuries to 10 others.
The Red Fort blast followed the dismantling of a white-collar terror module in Faridabad by the Jammu and Kashmir Police in collaboration with the Haryana Police.
