Jindal Global University (JGU) has formalized partnerships by signing Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with 10 prominent universities across 5 nations at the recent QS India Summit 2026 held in Goa. These agreements signify JGU's ongoing commitment to fostering global academic collaborations to enhance educational cooperation on multiple fronts.
The MoUs outline a comprehensive framework for collaboration, including student and faculty exchanges, joint research, and other cooperative initiatives aligned with the academic missions of the involved institutions.
The universities involved in these agreements are: The University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, Royal Roads University, University of Guelph, and Brock University (Canada); University of Otago (New Zealand); University of Sheffield and University of Stirling (United Kingdom); Delta University for Science and Technology (Egypt); and Shinawatra University (Thailand).
This significant accomplishment elevates JGU’s international partnerships to over 600 collaborations across more than 80 countries. Such strategic alliances are set to provide expanded opportunities for JGU students and faculty in international mobility, academic exchanges, joint research, and enhanced institutional cooperation with prestigious universities worldwide.
Reflecting on this advancement, Professor (Dr) C. Raj Kumar, the Founding Vice Chancellor of JGU, stated that global academic partnerships are crucial for universities aiming to create broader intellectual and societal impacts.
“In our interconnected world, universities need to operate on a global scale not just to broaden academic perspectives, but also to significantly contribute to global knowledge and the public good. The MoUs signed at the QS India Summit highlight JGU’s ongoing dedication to developing international academic partnerships that facilitate impactful research, global learning opportunities, and sustained institutional collaborations,” he remarked.
From an academic governance perspective, Professor Padmanabha Ramanujam, Dean of Academic Governance & Student Life at JGU, stressed the importance of structured and results-driven collaborations.
“The essence of international collaboration lies in its academic value and its capacity to yield credible and measurable results. The MoUs signed at the summit lay a robust foundation for systematic cooperation in research, academic exchanges, and faculty involvement. JGU is committed to working closely with partner institutions to ensure these collaborations are executed through well-defined academic initiatives that align with institutional priorities and standards,” he added.
These MoUs also bolster JGU’s overarching internationalization agenda, according to Professor (Dr) Akhil Bhardwaj, Vice Dean for International Affairs & Global Initiatives at JGU, who underscored their significance for enhancing student and faculty engagement.
“These ten MoUs signify a substantial enhancement of JGU’s global partnerships across diverse regions. They will facilitate increased pathways for student mobility, faculty exchanges, and collaborative academic programs. As part of JGU’s internationalization strategy, we are focused on establishing long-term institutional relationships that generate authentic academic opportunities and deepen global engagement for our university community,” he stated.
