Srinagar, July 22 (NationPress) - The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, initiated a new website on Tuesday aimed at addressing the grievances of families affected by terrorism, which he will oversee personally.
The office of the L-G announced via X, "Today, I launched a dedicated web portal for the families of terrorism victims in Jammu and Kashmir. This initiative aims to streamline and accelerate the process of providing relief, compassionate appointments, and various forms of support for those impacted by terrorism in the Union Territory. Developed by the Home Department in partnership with NIC, this web portal will act as a centralized hub to gather and maintain detailed, district-wise data regarding families affected by terrorism. I will personally monitor the resolution of all cases across the UT.
He emphasized that the initiative will enhance the efficiency of relief distribution and other supportive measures for those who have endured the consequences of terrorism.
The web portal, created with the collaboration of the Home Department and NIC, will function as a centralized resource for collecting and preserving extensive district-wise information on families affected by terrorism.
Additionally, records of any encroachments on the properties of victims or their next of kin (NOKs) are being documented. This will ensure that no legitimate case goes unaddressed, and eligible families will receive timely support in the form of financial aid, ex gratia compensation, and compassionate employment, all while preventing fraudulent or multiple claims.
To facilitate the registration of any unaddressed or pending claims, toll-free helpline numbers have been established at the Divisional Commissioners’ offices in both Jammu (0191-2478995) and Kashmir (0194-2487777).
These helplines will be manned by dedicated control rooms serving as citizen interfaces for addressing grievances or inquiries related to pending governmental support for terror-affected families, including compensation, ex gratia relief, and compassionate appointments.
The helplines are staffed by trained professionals and will be integrated with the centralized application to ensure that every claim is officially recorded and acted upon.
To maintain regular oversight, coordination, and follow-up on grievances and outstanding claims, Special Monitoring Cells have been established in the offices of the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police.
These Special Cells will periodically assess the status of pending and resolved cases, analyze delays or bottlenecks in processing, and coordinate with relevant departments to ensure timely and equitable resolution of claims.
Present at the launch were Atal Dulloo, Chief Secretary; Nalin Prabhat, DGP; Chandraker Bharti, Principal Secretary of the Home Department; Mandeep K. Bhandari, Principal Secretary to Lieutenant Governor; M Raju, Commissioner Secretary of GAD; Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir; Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner Jammu; V.K.
