New Delhi, Feb 28 (NationPress) On Saturday, Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Jual Oram, unveiled a series of nationwide initiatives set to launch in March aimed at fostering a sustainable socio-economic transformation by placing tribal communities at the heart of cultural preservation, enterprise growth, and national advancement.
During a media briefing, the Minister highlighted that these initiatives provide a comprehensive strategy for safeguarding tribal heritage, elevating creative talent, enhancing entrepreneurial opportunities, broadening market access, and strengthening corporate collaborations to facilitate sustainable tribal development.
He also officially introduced the logos for the Tribes Art Fest, Living Roots Festival – Soundscapes of Tribal India, and the Bharat Tribes Fest 2026.
Oram emphasized that these initiatives embody a holistic framework that intertwines culture, business, and corporate alliances.
“By integrating art, music, entrepreneurial growth, and strategic partnerships into one cohesive framework, the Ministry aims to empower tribal communities as active contributors to India’s cultural and economic evolution,” he stated.
Accompanying the Union Minister were Durgadas Uikey, Minister of State for Tribal Affairs; Ranjana Chopra, Secretary; Anant Prakash Pandey, Joint Secretary; M. Raja Murugan, Managing Director of TRIFED; and Dharmendra Tewari from PIB.
The Tribes Art Fest (TAF) 2026, scheduled from March 2 to 13 in Delhi, will gather over 70 distinguished tribal artists, showcasing nearly 1,000 artworks across 30 varied tribal art forms from across the nation, according to a statement.
Designed as a national platform for India’s tribal visual arts, TAF will include curated walkthroughs, live painting demonstrations, illustrated discussions, mentorship workshops, and interactive sessions that will connect artists, curators, designers, and collectors.
The Living Roots Festival – Soundscapes of Tribal India is set to take place from March 13-15 at Bikaner House and India Gate in New Delhi.
This festival aims to reposition tribal music as a contemporary, respected, and economically viable cultural force while maintaining its community roots.
Following this, the Bharat Tribes Fest (BTF) will run from March 18 to 30 at Sunder Nursery, New Delhi, serving as a national marketplace and cultural hub, featuring participation from over 1,000 tribal artisans.
A cornerstone of the Bharat Tribes Fest 2026 will be a 14-day National Business Conclave, designed to enhance tribal entrepreneurship and effectively integrate tribal businesses into both domestic and global value chains.
Additionally, the Ministry will convene a National CSR Summit on March 24, bringing together corporate leaders, CSR heads, implementation partners, and State Tribal Welfare Departments on a unified platform.
