Kochi, May 26 (NationPress) The Kerala High Court has denied the anticipatory bail request of Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer Sukanth Suresh, who is accused of being involved in the tragic suicide of his 24-year-old girlfriend and fellow officer.
Suresh has been eluding authorities since March 24, the day the woman took her life by jumping in front of a speeding train after her night shift at the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport.
During the proceedings on Monday, the court emphasized that the evidence presented indicates that Suresh had emotionally, physically, and financially manipulated the deceased.
On May 22, when the petition was discussed, the court noted that the bail application had been submitted on April 3, and nearly two months had passed without the police managing to locate him. The court questioned whether this indicated a lack of urgency on the part of the police and pondered if Suresh's position in the IB was influencing the investigation.
