Bengaluru, Nov 27 (NationPress) In a significant turn of events, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge announced on Thursday that Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister and state party head D.K. Shivakumar are set to be summoned to Delhi, where an amicable resolution to their leadership conflict will be sought following discussions with senior party leaders.
Speaking to the media in Bengaluru prior to his trip to Delhi, Kharge stated, "We will convene three to four leaders for discussions. This issue will be resolved. The deliberations will be inclusive, and a decision will follow."
He elaborated that upon arriving in Delhi, he would promptly engage with the key leaders to clarify any uncertainties surrounding the matter.
When asked about the attendance of CM Siddaramaiah, Shivakumar, and other state leaders, the AICC president confirmed that their presence is essential for the discussions.
"We will address the issue and find a resolution," he affirmed.
This development comes after a series of internal meetings held in the state. Shivakumar met with PWD Minister Satish Jarkiholi on Wednesday, who is recognized as a loyal supporter of the Chief Minister.
Sources indicated that Shivakumar had discussions with Jarkiholi regarding the ongoing leadership conflict, although he publicly maintained that their conversation revolved around strategizing for the 2028 and 2029 elections.
In another related internal party development, senior Congress leader and MLC B.K. Hariprasad met with Jarkiholi and Social Welfare Minister H.C. Mahadevappa, both of whom are known to closely associate with Siddaramaiah.
Shivakumar previously emphasized that uniting to regain power for the party takes precedence over the Chief Minister's position or any other high-ranking role.
"The high command will determine the transfer of power and the CM position. Senior leaders, including Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi, will make an appropriate decision," he remarked, adding that the party would safeguard his interests.
Sources disclosed that the pivotal meeting between state and national leaders is anticipated to occur on November 29 in Delhi, where a conclusive decision may be reached to put an end to the power struggle within the Karnataka Congress.
