New Delhi, Nov 29 (NationPress) The National Spokesperson for the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), Vinod Bansal, has criticized the comments made by Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind leader Maulana Mahmood Madani on Saturday.
In an interview with IANS, Bansal stated that Madani's remarks represent a significant threat to India's national identity, religion, culture, judicial framework, and governance. He accused individuals making such declarations of “biting the hand that feeds them.”
Bansal asserted that figures like Madani provoke Muslim youth and extremists under the guise of jihad, posing a risk to the nation's integrity and security.
Furthermore, he emphasized that as a prominent Muslim community leader, if Madani advocates for “jihad against oppression,” it implies a tacit endorsement of terrorism. Bansal urged Madani to clarify whether he backs terrorists, referencing the terrorist Dr. Umar, who was involved in bombings in Delhi, questioning, “Does Madani consider him a victim of oppression?”
He added that Indian soldiers stationed at the borders make the ultimate sacrifice while chanting Vande Mataram, and disrespecting such heroes is intolerable.
Bansal called for stringent measures from the authorities regarding Madani's statements.
He also urged the Muslim community to disassociate from extremist leaders, as they mislead the youth with promises of jannah, jihad, and “72 houris,” driving them towards violence and tarnishing the reputation of the entire community.
Moreover, Bansal condemned Madani's assertion that those who chant Vande Mataram represent a “dead community,” deeming it an affront to patriotism that must not be overlooked.
Additionally, Bansal criticized comments made by TMC MLA Humayun Kabir about mosque construction in West Bengal, stating that while Babur's son bore the name Humayun, today’s Humayun lacks Babur as a lineage.
“He must either acknowledge Babur as his ancestor or confess to adopting him and seeking to construct a mosque on that premise,” Bansal stated.
