Key Takeaways
Bhopal, April 6 (NationPress) In a pivotal step to enhance internal security, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav of Madhya Pradesh launched a joint capacity-building training and demonstration initiative in collaboration with the National Security Guard (NSG) at the Lal Parade Ground.
The Chief Minister revealed two significant projects aimed at fortifying the state's counter-terrorism capabilities. A Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been prepared, entailing an investment of Rs 200 crore for the extensive modernization of the Counter Terrorist Group (CTG), with implementation expected to commence shortly.
Furthermore, a cutting-edge training center focused on emergency disaster management and counter-terror operations will be set up in Tumda village, situated in the Huzur tehsil of Bhopal district. Given the strategic central location of Madhya Pradesh, this facility is anticipated to be crucial for enhancing national security readiness.
The month-long program, scheduled from April 7 to May 4, 2026, is designed to improve the operational effectiveness of state police personnel, including members of the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and the CTG, in addressing contemporary security challenges.
During the remarkable NSG demonstration, Black Cat commandos exhibited their elite proficiency through a lifelike simulation of a mock terrorist incident. They showcased rapid response protocols, counter-assault strategies, and aerial maneuvers executed with precision and bravery.
Chief Minister Yadav praised the commandos, describing the display as “a testament to the peak of bravery, unwavering determination, and valor.” He underscored that such intense training and drills are vital for preparing security forces to tackle challenges across land, water, and air.
In his address, CM Yadav stated that while Indian culture emphasizes universal well-being, the nation, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance, has conveyed a clear message: any provocation will be met with a decisive and robust response in a manner understood by adversaries.
“Extremist forces pose a significant barrier to national progress. We must confront them with unwavering resolve,” he asserted. “The NSG serves as India’s impenetrable security shield. Its motto — Sarvatra Sarvottam Suraksha (Omnipresent, Supreme Security) — instills complete confidence that as long as the NSG and our forces remain vigilant, our citizens' safety is assured,” remarked Yadav.
He further noted that Madhya Pradesh is now entirely free from Naxal influence, attributing this success to the commitment of security personnel.
Director General of Police Kailash Makwana announced that the collaborative training will encompass approximately eight essential disciplines, including counter-attack operations, over the forthcoming month.
The event commenced with a ceremonial welcome from the Police Band, attended by senior police officials and NSG personnel.
