Bhopal, July 23 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel emphasized on Wednesday that universities need to develop curricula that align with local job prospects.
During the opening session of a workshop titled ‘Employment-Focused Education’ hosted by the Madhya Pradesh government at the Kushabhau Thakre convention center in Bhopal, Patel praised the initiative.
He remarked that this workshop is not only timely but also provides a robust framework for future planning. "This is a significant move toward advancing India's development through employment-oriented education," he stated.
Stressing the critical role of education in today’s world, the Governor noted that it empowers individuals, communities, and the nation to adapt, embrace innovations, and capitalize on new opportunities.
"Our educational framework must not only open doors to job opportunities but also foster self-reliance among students. In addition to quality education, institutions should impart essential life values," Patel added.
He also commended Chief Minister Mohan Yadav for his dedication to attracting investments from both domestic and international entities.
Patel mentioned that as investment projects are implemented, it’s essential to introduce courses that prepare candidates for industrial roles.
Chief Minister Yadav shared that the workshop aims to adapt to evolving times by fostering employment-centric education and opportunities.
He reflected on the national education policies discussed in 1968 and 1988, highlighting that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's guidance, a third significant evaluation of education is currently in progress.
Yadav further noted that since Madhya Pradesh is primarily an agricultural state undergoing rapid development, the government has decided to integrate agricultural education into general colleges.
“If young people aspire to pursue careers in agriculture, they must be well-versed in modern technology. The scope of universities should broaden to include all relevant courses,” he stated.
