Gandhinagar, Feb 25 (NationPress) The celebrations for Maha Shivaratri in the Valsad district of Gujarat have commenced with great enthusiasm, marked by the unveiling of an impressive 36-foot tall Rudraksha Shivling in the village of Vankal, located in Dharampur.

This magnificent Shivling, crafted from 36 lakh Rudrakshas, has emerged as a center of devotion, drawing thousands of worshippers from the surrounding areas.

Created by Sant Batuk Maharaj, a figure who has received accolades in the Limca Book of World Records on four occasions, this Shivling stands out for its spiritual significance.

According to Hindu traditions, Rudraksha is believed to have originated from the tears of Lord Shiva, and the worship of a Rudraksha Shiva Lingam is thought to confer substantial spiritual benefits.

"The scriptures emphasize the significance of Shivling worship. Ancient beliefs state that Rudraksha emerged from the tears of Lord Shiva. The worship of a Rudraksha Shivling is deemed highly auspicious and rewarding," stated Sant Batuk Maharaj.

This Shivling is not only a testament to craftsmanship but is also regarded as highly energizing and potent, attributed to the sacred essence of Rudraksha, which symbolizes Lord Shiva.

"The establishment of this Rudraksha Shivling has achieved a new record as the tallest worldwide, and we have officially recognized this milestone with an award from the India Book of Records," remarked Pavan Solanki, President of the Record Book of India.

Worshippers from various locations are converging on Vankal village to witness the splendor of this Shivling. In addition to the darshan, there is an uninterrupted recitation of the 'Shiv Katha', allowing devotees to fully engage in spiritual ecstasy.

"Each year, this extraordinary Shivling composed of 36 lakh Rudrakshas continues to enchant the souls of devotees, serving as a beacon of immense faith and devotion," expressed Sharad Thakar, a devotee.
