Mumbai, Feb 24 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, conveyed optimism on Monday regarding the state government's initiatives to enhance administration and economic growth through technology, particularly artificial intelligence (AI). He asserted that Maharashtra is poised to take the lead in the nation's AI and technology revolution.

During his address at the NASSCOM Technology and Leadership Summit, CM Fadnavis emphasized the significant rise in digital services within the state, noting that a majority of government services are now accessible online.

The state administration has launched an AI center at Mumbai University.

Moreover, an industry center has been created in collaboration with the World Economic Forum.

“Maharashtra aims to elevate its economy to $1 trillion. The state is formulating a new economic strategy in partnership with NITI Aayog. A special focus is being placed on establishing the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMRDA) as the core of a $1.5 trillion economy,” the chief minister stated.

He highlighted that Maharashtra is at the forefront of the data center and fintech sectors.

“Approximately 60 percent of the nation’s data centers are located in Maharashtra. A data center park is underway in New Mumbai, and by 2030, around 50 percent of the state's electricity generation will derive from green energy. Mumbai is recognized as the Fintech Capital of India,” he remarked.

CM Fadnavis announced that Nashik will be the site for the Kumbh Mela in 2027, utilizing advanced technology.

“Cutting-edge technology will facilitate crowd management, security, and virtual experiences,” he added.

He also noted an increase in technological applications within the agriculture sector.

Efforts are underway to double farmers' incomes through technological advancements in agriculture. The 'Agri-Stat' initiative aims to digitalize the entire agricultural process.

“Through the 'Drone Shakti' program, we intend to lower agricultural spraying costs by providing drone training,” he concluded.

CM Fadnavis announced plans to develop a 'third Mumbai' in the vicinity of the Navi Mumbai International Airport, which will be dubbed an 'Innovation City'. This city will occupy three hundred acres and emphasize technology, innovative research, and artificial intelligence.

Additionally, GCC Parks will be established in Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, and Nashik. He urged industry and technology experts to contribute their insights and solutions.
