Mumbai, May 14 (NationPress) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has instructed the administration to form a state-level committee aimed at implementing educational reforms within military schools.
The Chief Minister stated, "The policy regarding military schools has been introduced to ensure that a significant number of students across the state can engage with the National Defence Academy (NDA). Our goal is to nurture disciplined, confident, team-oriented, and leadership-focused students. There is a pressing need for enhancements in the military schools, and to address these needs while elevating educational standards, a dedicated committee must be established." He emphasized this during a meeting focused on educational reforms in military schools.
He further mentioned that the committee should thoroughly examine educational reforms in Sainik schools, the quality of education, the admission process, the CBSE curriculum, and various school demands. The committee is expected to submit its findings to the state government within one month, after which a policy decision will be made for the benefit of the students.
School Education Minister Dadaji Bhuse expressed the government’s commitment to enhancing the quality of educational facilities in military schools. He highlighted the necessity for the committee to conduct on-site inspections of the schools, analyze the demands and challenges faced, and provide a detailed report within a specified timeframe.
In another context, Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule stated that prompt actions are required for the transparent and effective execution of the recently approved sand policy by the state cabinet. The policy aims to make sand available at lower costs and to eliminate unauthorized sand mining.
Bawankule elaborated that under this new policy, the state government is initiating a tendering process for extracting sand from riverbeds, as well as for the transportation and management of sand depots.
He remarked, "This policy will provide relief to the common citizen. Sand will be accessible to all, and the royalty fees will be waived as per the sand policy. Additionally, royalty receipts should be distributed to beneficiaries involved in housing construction through group development officers from the nearest sand depot. Sand must be made available for construction in rural areas; therefore, the District Collector will need to convene meetings with the Guardian Minister, Tehsildars, and MLAs to release sand in response to local demand."
Moreover, Bawankule urged the administration to create a state-level committee to ensure the registration of as many workers as possible, enabling them to access all government benefits. He mentioned that the government is rolling out several initiatives to improve employment conditions, safety, health, and welfare for building and other construction workers in the state.
He added, "To ensure fairness for these workers and to include them in all government schemes, it is crucial to register the maximum number of laborers." He also suggested that a committee should be formed to conduct comprehensive studies at the village level, comprising local representatives, gram sevaks, sarpanchs, and other key figures.
