Kolkata, Nov 29 (NationPress) A man identified as Partha Hait has once again eluded authorities following a raid by cheated investors at his new hideout located in Naihati, North 24 Parganas. Accused of orchestrating a chit fund scam in the Howrah district of West Bengal, he is currently on the run as police initiate a manhunt.
Hait had previously set up a chit fund company, successfully deceiving individuals out of lakhs of rupees in the Bagnan region of Howrah. He was reportedly residing in a rented property in Naihati with his mother at the time of the raid.
The situation unfolded on Friday evening when local authorities responded to reports of unrest at his residence, only to discover that Hait had already fled.
The police confirmed that a fraud case amounting to Rs four lakh has been registered against him, and efforts are in full swing to track him down after he escaped from Naihati.
Investigators are also probing whether additional fraud cases are linked to his chit fund operations. However, no further complaints have been lodged at the Naihati police station yet.
A senior officer from the Naihati Police Station stated, "We received news of a disturbance outside a residence in Naihati. Upon arrival, it became clear that Partha Hait was hiding there after committing financial fraud in Howrah. He has evaded capture once again, and our search continues."
Local residents revealed that Hait, originally from Bagnan, had moved to a rented home in the Gaur Phadi area of Naihati with his mother just months ago.
Naihati MLA Sanat Dey commented, "I was informed that the defrauded individuals discovered Partha's whereabouts in Naihati. Subsequently, it came to light that a significant fraud had taken place. I have alerted the police to take necessary actions."
