New Delhi, Dec 2 (NationPress) In a significant operation, security forces in Manipur have executed a series of well-coordinated, intelligence-driven missions across several districts, resulting in the capture of 11 insurgent cadres and the substantial recovery of weapons, explosives, and contraband from November 23-28, according to official sources.

From November 23-28, the Indian Army and formations of the Assam Rifles, operating under Spear Corps, collaborated with the Manipur Police to conduct targeted, intelligence-led joint operations in the districts of Canchipur, Saikul, Thoubal, Kangpokpi, Tengnoupal, Imphal East, and Imphal West.

These operations resulted in the detention of 11 cadres affiliated with both hill and valley groups, along with the recovery of 14 weapons, illicit contraband, explosives, and various military supplies.

On November 23, a collaborative team of Assam Rifles and Imphal West Police Commandos captured an active member of the KCP (PWG) in Canchipur, Imphal West.

Two days later, during an operation in the vicinity of Shonglung, Kangpokpi district, Assam Rifles recovered a Heckler and Koch G3 rifle with a magazine, two bolt-action rifles, four Pull mechanism rifles, an improvised mortar, two hand grenades with detonators, two live G3 rounds, and a handheld radio.

On the same day in the area of Galbung village, Saikul district, the Assam Rifles seized a carbine with a magazine, a .303 rifle, six 9 mm rounds, a .303 magazine, two .22 pistols with magazines, two single bolt-action rifles, various types of ammunition and explosives, two Baofeng radios, four Pompey devices, three PEK, cordex, and detonators.

On November 26, Assam Rifles and Imphal East Police Commandos detained a KYKL (SOREPA) cadre from Porompat Soibam Leikai, Imphal East.

Officials confirmed that on the same day, Assam Rifles and Nambol Police apprehended a UNLF (Koireng) cadre in Heigrujam, Imphal West, recovering a 9mm pistol and 12 live rounds.

On November 28, during routine MVCP checks at Yangoubung, Tengnoupal, Assam Rifles seized foreign-made liquor and cigarettes valued at ₹80 lakh, apprehending two individuals in the process.

Additionally, on the same day, Assam Rifles discovered five live IEDs concealed in an underground bunker within a forested area of Tengnoupal.

“The explosives were safely neutralized. All seized items and detained individuals were transferred to the relevant authorities for further legal action,” officials stated.
