The Manipur Education Department issued an official order stating that the Governor has approved the closure of all educational institutions on Monday, 20 July. The order covers all schools affiliated with the Board of Secondary Education, the Council of Higher Secondary Education, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and any other recognised board, as well as colleges, universities, and higher educational institutions across government, aided, and unaided sectors.

Mizoram Goes Further: Half-Day for Government Offices

Neighbouring Mizoram extended the concession beyond schools. An Office Memorandum issued by the General Administration Department declared a full holiday for all schools, colleges, and educational institutions, while all government offices — except banking institutions — will observe a half-day holiday, remaining closed during the forenoon and resuming from 1 pm to 5 pm.
