Bhopal, April 8 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are set to arrive in Madhya Pradesh on April 11 and April 13, respectively, as announced by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday.
PM Modi will be visiting Ashok Nagar to participate in a religious gathering at the Anandpur Trust Ashram, while HM Shah will be in Bhopal.
The Chief Minister shared this update during a cabinet meeting, directing officials to prepare all necessary arrangements.
Further details regarding PM Modi's itinerary (excluding the visit to Anand Trust Ashram) are still pending, whereas HM Shah is expected to attend a program named 'Gopal Sammelan', a congregation of state-level cooperative dairy producers.
During HM Shah's visit, who also holds the title of Union Cooperation Minister, a collaborative agreement will be formalized between the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), the state government, and milk unions at Ravindra Bhavan in Bhopal.
According to the Chief Minister, this collaboration agreement will involve the MP State Co-operative Dairy Federation Limited, milk unions, and the NDDB.
He emphasized that the state government is taking a significant step towards improving the livelihoods of farmers and livestock owners through this partnership.
"The government is dedicated to ensuring that milk is procured directly from farmers and livestock owners at equitable prices. As part of the White Revolution Mission, we will be enhancing the number of milk coolers, mini dairy plants, and chilling centers in partnership with Sanchi Dairy across each district," he noted.
The Chief Minister further stated that Madhya Pradesh currently ranks third in the nation for milk production, and efforts will be made to expand the reach of cooperative societies to maximize the benefits for milk producers.
"The processing capacity for milk will increase from 1.8 million liters per day to three million liters per day. This uptick in milk production will also fortify dairy producer organizations, providing farmers with a significant additional income source beyond traditional agriculture, thereby aiding the state's overall development," he added.
It is noteworthy that this collaboration agreement was initially set to be signed on the final day of the Global Investment Summit (GIS) on February 25, but was subsequently postponed.
The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet had previously approved the agreement, which will be valid for an initial five-year term with potential for renewal through mutual consent.
