Patna, Oct 24 (NationPress) A woman from Bihar performed a unique rendition of a Chhathi Maiya song on Friday, in anticipation of the forthcoming Chhath Mahaparv, affectionately calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi “Modi Bhaiya.” This melodious interpretation has resonated deeply with PM Modi's supporters and has garnered praise from various audiences.

The Chhath song, referring to PM Modi as 'bhaiya,' coincided with the Prime Minister's campaign launch in the election-bound Bihar, where he encouraged people on his social media platforms to share their Chhath songs.

“As the grand festival of Chhath, which honors nature and culture, draws near, devotees across India, particularly in Bihar, are wholeheartedly engaged in preparations. The sacred songs of Chhathi Maiya amplify the beauty and sanctity of this occasion. I invite you to share your Chhath Puja songs with me, and I will ensure they reach my fellow citizens in the days to come,” PM Modi shared on X.

His request received an overwhelming response, with many individuals, both men and women, taking to X to share their own Chhath songs while tagging the Prime Minister. One notable rendition that captured widespread attention was performed by a group of women, who affectionately referred to PM Modi as 'bhaiya' in their heartfelt recitation, showcasing their support.

The video features a group of women singing a traditional Chhathi Maiya song, with one woman delivering a touching performance titled “Bahangi Lachkat Jaye.”

“Bhara Lachkat Jaye, Bhara Lachkat Jaye, Bhaiya Jo Hoiye Modi Bhaiya. Bhara Kinkar Jaye, Bhara Kinkar Jaye, Bhara Chhathi Mai Ke Jaaye,” she passionately sings, merging tradition with a modern flair.

Earlier that day, PM Modi kicked off the Bihar election campaign with a rally in Samastipur, perfectly aligning with the festive spirit as residents prepare for the Chhath Puja festival, which begins tomorrow.

Chhath Puja is one of the most revered Hindu festivals, celebrated mainly in Bihar, Jharkhand, and eastern Uttar Pradesh, and is also recognized in parts of Nepal and among Indian communities globally.

The four-day Chhath Puja celebrations are set to take place from Saturday, October 25, to Tuesday, October 28. Known by various names including Surya Shashti, Dala Chhath, and Chhath Parv, this festival exemplifies discipline, purity, and a profound spiritual bond with nature.

Dedicated to worshiping the Sun god and his sister Chhathi Maiya, the festival underscores themes of purity, gratitude, and familial well-being.
