Mumbai, Oct 19 (NationPress) RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday expressed concern over the obstacles being placed in the way of India’s advancement by certain individuals. He urged a return to Indian roots and knowledge systems, emphasizing the need to free our minds from foreign influences.
During a book launch event in Mumbai, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief stated, “A new direction is essential for progress, and India has that direction. The world looks to us for this. Some individuals are obstructing our advancement... and for that, peace is also essential.”
He criticized the ‘Macaulay Knowledge System’ (MKS), encouraging Indians to uncover the secrets behind the success of other nations and critically assess them.
Bhagwat noted that MKS has adversely affected the intellects of Indians, stating, “Our thoughts and intellects have become foreign.”
“It is crucial to liberate ourselves from this foreign influence to embrace our traditional knowledge and appreciate its value,” he added.
Earlier, Bhagwat compared the goodwill of ancient Indians with the invaders who weakened the nation by plundering its wealth and undermining the minds of its people.
“Those who possess superior culture, knowledge, and values are termed Arya. The exact routes our ancestors took remain somewhat unclear, but it is evident that they traversed the globe from Mexico to Siberia. Wherever they went, they did not seize kingdoms nor enforce conversions; instead, they enriched others by sharing their civilization, mathematics, Ayurveda, and various scriptures,” he remarked.
They accomplished this to fortify and enlighten the world through their rich heritage, he stated.
While releasing the Arya Yug Vishay Kosh encyclopedia, Bhagwat noted that spiritual knowledge continues to thrive, and as descendants of Aryavrat, we possess science, weaponry, strength, faith, and knowledge.
“While it is beneficial to understand the knowledge imparted by Western nations, preserving our ancestral wisdom is paramount... our scriptures are the essence of our civilization,” he emphasized.
“Our heritage has endured for 5000 years, and we must work to reclaim our rightful place and become what we once were,” he concluded.
