The 35-year-old Bajrang Dal member, Nilesh Rajak, a former Gau Seva Pramukh of Katni district, was reportedly shot by two unidentified assailants while standing near a bank in the Vijayraghogarh area on Wednesday.
Authorities have apprehended two suspects linked to Rajak's murder following a police encounter early on Wednesday. The arrested individuals, identified as Akram Khan and Prince Joseph, are currently undergoing interrogation by senior police officials.
In a disturbing development, the father of one of the suspects allegedly took his own life, adding to the mystery surrounding this tragic event. Uday Pratap Singh, the Minister overseeing Katni district and the state's School Education Minister, arrived in Katni to confer with senior officials.
