Bhopal, Sept 11 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh's Chief Minister Mohan Yadav instructed district administrations on Thursday to initiate a comprehensive survey to assess the extent of crop damage due to various factors, including recent rainfall in the state.
During his address to farmers in Shajapur district, CM Yadav emphasized that all losses stemming from inadequate rainfall and pest invasions will be meticulously evaluated, ensuring that farmers receive full compensation.
He reassured the farmers that the state government is committed to preventing any financial losses.
While visiting Khadi village in Shajapur, CM Yadav personally examined the damage inflicted on soybean crops.
Following this, he reiterated his directive for all district collectors to perform a thorough physical assessment of affected crops and report back to the state government.
"Every loss due to insufficient rainfall and pest issues will be carefully documented, and farmers will receive complete compensation. I guarantee that farmers will not incur any losses," the Chief Minister declared on Thursday.
In contrast, the Opposition Congress party criticized the ruling BJP-led government, accusing it of neglecting farmers' welfare and mismanaging fertiliser distribution across the state.
In a vigorous response, the State Congress unit, spearheaded by party chief Jitu Patwari, is set to stage a significant protest in Ujjain, the Chief Minister's home district, on Friday.
"Farmers in Madhya Pradesh are facing numerous hardships. They lack sufficient fertilisers and are not receiving compensation for damaged crops. On Friday, over 25,000 Congress workers will demonstrate in CM Yadav's Assembly constituency in Ujjain," Patwari stated on Thursday.
Prominent Congress figures, including former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh, Sajjan Singh Verma, Congress in-charge Harish Choudhary, and former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, are expected to join the protest in Ujjain on Friday, according to a Congress spokesperson.
