Bhopal, Oct 24 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, visited Hamidia Hospital in Bhopal to meet with children impacted by the recent carbide gun incident and assess their health on Friday night.
During his visit, the Chief Minister engaged with the medical staff to discuss the condition of those affected, particularly the children, and the treatments they are receiving. He urged the doctors to provide the highest standard of medical care.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister mandated that adequate treatment be extended to children and citizens injured by carbide guns throughout other regions of the state. He also ordered that support be drawn from the Chief Minister’s Discretionary Fund.
Yadav stated, "The Health Department is consistently monitoring these cases. Given that the production and sale of lethal carbide guns is illegal, police are conducting raids and investigations to curb their usage."
Family members of the patients at Hamidia Hospital described the use of carbide guns by their relatives as tragic. They expressed their gratitude for the care being provided at the facility.
The Chief Minister visited Hamidia Hospital after returning from a busy day in Bihar, where he addressed three consecutive election rallies.
Accompanying him during the hospital visit were Principal Secretary of the Health Department, Sandeep Yadav, and Commissioner of Public Relations, Deepak Kumar Saxena.
Previously, Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla, responsible for the health department, along with Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar, had also visited Hamidia Hospital.
Meanwhile, police reported that they had seized nearly 60 carbide guns from Bhopal and detained two suspects, following several children sustaining eye injuries while playing with these weapons.
According to Dr. Kavita Kumar, Head of the Eye Department at Hamidia Hospital, there are currently six children hospitalized with severe injuries, while 27 others have been treated and discharged in the last three days.
