The Excise teams, in collaboration with police personnel, executed raids late Sunday night at numerous restaurants and eateries situated along Kolar Road, close to Kerwa Dam and the nearby ISBT in Bhopal.
During these operations, the State Excise department discovered that patrons were being served liquor, which is strictly prohibited.
The raiding teams also seized branded liquor bottles stored in the establishments targeted during the Sunday night operations.
Locations raided included L.N. Hotel, Deshi Tadka, Natkhad Dhaba, Bhaialal Dhaba, Basil Restaurant, Tree Chapter, and others.
Under the supervision of Assistant Excise Commissioner Virendra Dhakad, the operation led to the registration of over a dozen cases under the Madhya Pradesh Excise Act, according to police reports on Monday.
These latest raids follow a substantial enforcement action from the previous week, during which Collector Kaushlendra Vikram Singh ordered the suspension of licenses and the sealing of 59 restaurants, hotels, and bars due to regulatory breaches.
On Saturday, additional raids were carried out at more than a dozen establishments in key areas, including Kerwa Dam Road, Ratibad, Number 10 Market, Arera Colony, Bairagarh, and Berasia Road.
The teams uncovered several instances of illegal liquor being stored and served to customers, violating licensing regulations.
Furthermore, the State Excise department took measures against individuals involved in the production and sale of illicit liquor made using unauthorized hand-made furnaces located along Berasia Road.
Excise officials have reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining stringent vigilance and ensuring compliance across all licensed establishments in the city.
The department has also called upon citizens to report any suspicious or illegal liquor-related activities in their communities.
Previously, on May 3, the Bhopal district administration sealed approximately 60 restaurants, hotels, and clubs after suspending their excise licenses following extensive raids across multiple locations within the city.
