Bhind, Sep 30 (NationPress) In a tragic road incident on Tuesday, five individuals lost their lives, including a family of four and a diver, when a speeding container truck collided with two motorcycles in the Phoop region of Bhind district, Madhya Pradesh.
The collision occurred around 11 a.m. on the Gwalior-Itawa road, a heavily trafficked area notorious for frequent accidents.
Initial reports from local authorities indicate that three of the victims perished instantly due to the violent impact. One motorcycle was operated by Bhola Khan, a professional diver, while the other was ridden by Sunil Baghel, who was accompanied by his wife Sunita (32), son Chhote (5), and daughter Anshu (15).
The family was reportedly on their way to a nearby village when the incident occurred.
“Bhola Khan, Sunil Baghel, and his wife Sunita died at the scene; the children later succumbed to their injuries,” stated Satyendra Singh Rajput, the in-charge of Phoop Police Station and investigating officer, during an interview with IANS.
The officer added that the container truck, traveling at high speed, lost control and crashed into both motorcycles simultaneously.
The force of the impact was so great that the victims were thrown several meters away, and their motorcycles were left unrecognizable.
“The driver of the container fled the scene immediately after the collision, abandoning the vehicle nearby,” the officer reported.
Local residents rushed to the scene and notified the authorities. Police and emergency services arrived soon after and began identifying the victims and clearing the wreckage.
The remains of the victims were sent for post-mortem examinations at the district hospital.
