Mathura, Dec 28 (NationPress) A man, who allegedly took the life of a 27-year-old villager due to suspicions of an affair with his wife, was apprehended during a confrontation with law enforcement in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh.
The suspect, known as Dharmender, was being sought in connection with the murder of Mukesh.
On Saturday, the police acted upon a tip-off regarding Dharmender's location in Usfar village and quickly surrounded him. When ordered to give himself up, the suspect fired at the police team. In response, the police returned fire, resulting in Dharmender sustaining a gunshot wound to the leg.
Following his arrest, he was taken to the district hospital for treatment, as confirmed by police.
Authorities recovered a .315 bore pistol, two spent cartridges, one live cartridge, and an unregistered motorcycle from the suspect's possession.
Initial investigations revealed that Dharmender killed Mukesh due to ongoing suspicions and long-standing animosity.
