New Delhi, Nov 18 (NationPress) The Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya, unveiled the plans for the upcoming National Padyatra, scheduled from November 26 to December 6, in honor of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The initiative aims to mobilize the energy of the youth towards nation-building, aligning with the vision of Viksit Bharat, he stated.

During a press briefing, Mandaviya shared updates on the ongoing district-level padyatras and highlighted the main aspects of the National Padyatra, saying, “From Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Kutch to Kohima, millions have united for national solidarity. This is a tribute to the enduring legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and a nationwide movement aimed at harnessing youth energy for the development of our nation, working towards Viksit Bharat.

The campaign kicked off with digital engagements such as a reel competition, essay contests, and the Sardar@150 Young Leaders Quiz.

On-ground activities are taking place at the district level nationwide, with specific padyatras in some states at the Assembly Constituency level. Moreover, a procession of district representatives is heading to Gujarat in preparation for the national padyatra.

To honor the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, through MY Bharat, is organizing the nationwide Sardar@150 Unity March padyatra, aiming to enhance national pride, civic participation, and youth involvement across the nation.

The National Padyatra is set to commence on November 26 from Karamsad, Sardar Patel's ancestral home, and will conclude on December 6 at the Statue of Unity, covering nearly 190 km over 11 days.

Each day, various dignitaries including Union Ministers, Chief Ministers, and MPs will lead the padyatra, and well-known figures from diverse sectors are invited to join this significant movement.

Cabinet Ministers, prominent personalities, and national leaders are expected to speak daily on ten themes inspired by the life of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel through the Sardar Sabhas.

Every evening will feature Gram Sabhas, incorporating village engagement activities and cultural performances that embody the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.

This padyatra will embrace a completely Swadeshi approach, promoting the core message of Ek Bharat, Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

The route will include 150 thematic stops showcasing exhibitions, cultural displays, and community interactions to celebrate Sardar Patel's legacy. Ten major Sardar Sabhas will explore topics such as cooperatives, Bardoli Satyagraha, administrative leadership, constitutional vision, and the unification of princely states.

Participants will traverse 15-18 km daily, enjoying classical and folk performances, unity-themed art, traditional sports, and demonstrations of essential government schemes, while NSS units will conduct parallel social development and awareness initiatives in nearby villages along the route.

The youth of the nation are encouraged to register and take part in this momentous campaign, embodying the principles of Ek Bharat, Aatmanirbhar Bharat in their daily lives and civic duties.
