This extensive guide is designed to empower women.
The handbook aims to promote vital cyber hygiene practices by outlining the best strategies women can adopt to protect their online presence and ensure safety in today’s digital environment, as stated in an announcement.
CERT-In routinely conducts awareness initiatives to educate users about cyber security best practices to shield them from cyber threats.
The organization also releases awareness booklets and posters through its website and social media platforms to enhance cyber awareness nationwide.
With the goal of proactively securing the nation’s cyberspace, CERT-In is committed to strengthening the security of India's Communications and Information Infrastructure through anticipatory actions and effective collaboration.
CERT-In focuses on thwarting cyber attacks, responding to incidents to reduce damage and recovery time, and increasing cybersecurity awareness among the public.
As the designated national agency under the Information Technology (Amendment) Act 2008, CERT-In carries out essential tasks such as collecting, analyzing, and distributing information about cyber incidents, issuing forecasts and alerts, implementing emergency response protocols, and coordinating national responses to cyber incidents.
Previously, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) led a nationwide awareness campaign on Safer Internet Day, celebrated on February 11, 2025, which promoted safe and responsible Internet usage.
Under the theme ‘Together for a Better Internet’, the campaign aimed to educate and raise awareness among Internet users about cyber hygiene, online safety techniques, and emerging cyber threats.
This initiative was part of the Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) program, in collaboration with NIC, NIXI, C-DAC, NIELIT, MyGov, NeGD, and various partner organizations. The National Informatics Centre (NIC) played a vital role in enhancing outreach through its extensive digital infrastructure and communication networks.
During this comprehensive campaign, 1,521 awareness workshops were held across 35 States/UTs, 599 districts, 493 blocks/tehsils, and 134 gram panchayats, reaching over 3.08 lakh beneficiaries.
