New Delhi, July 20 (NationPress) Justice V. Ramasubramanian, Chairperson of the NHRC, will lead a significant two-day camp sitting in Bhubaneswar commencing on Monday. This session aims to address critical cases involving the trafficking of girl children, allegations of witchcraft and sorcery, and various crimes against women, according to an official announcement.
Highlighted issues include human rights cases related to fatalities from snake bites and inadequate medical support, as well as the flooding crises affecting over five families in Bhadrak, Kendrapada, and other coastal regions. The hearings will also touch upon attacks against journalists and crimes targeting women.
The State authorities along with the complainants have been instructed to attend the hearings to ensure immediate discussions and resolutions.
Following the hearings, the NHRC team plans to convene with the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, and other senior state officials to discuss the promotion and safeguarding of human rights, as stated in an official release.
Also present will be other members of the rights panel including Justice (Dr) Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi, Vijaya Bharathi Sayani, and Priyank Kanoongo.
NHRC Secretary General Bharat Lal, along with Registrar (Law) Joginder Singh and other senior officials, will also participate in the Camp Sitting and open hearing.
