Panaji, Oct 4 (NationPress) Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal firmly stated on Saturday that there will be no collaboration with the Congress for the upcoming 2027 Goa Assembly elections.
He emphasized, “There will be no alliance with the Congress under any circumstances,” refuting assertions that some of the party’s workers in Goa were considering a partnership with the historic party ahead of the elections.
While addressing reporters after the inauguration of a party office in Mayem, located 16 km from Panaji, the AAP leader criticized the Congress for having consistently let down the people of Goa.
“The Congress has transformed into a wholesale supplier of MLAs to the BJP over the years. Can they guarantee to Goa voters that no party legislator will defect to the BJP in the future?” he questioned.
The former Chief Minister of Delhi pointed out, “At least 13 Congress MLAs shifted to the BJP between 2017 and 2019. In 2022, 10 Congress legislators made a similar move.”
Kejriwal insisted that an alliance with the Congress would essentially mean enabling the BJP’s government formation in Goa. “We do not wish to partake in any arrangement that aids the BJP's governance in Goa,” he stated.
He also pledged to introduce a fresh political framework to replace the antiquated system dominated by 13-14 political families from both the BJP and Congress that have held power in Goa for years.
“This political system is decayed, involving both the BJP and Congress. It is time to eradicate it and provide a new alternative for the residents of Goa,” he declared.
Kejriwal promised a new approach to governance that prioritizes the people of Goa, stating that under their administration, citizens would have the freedom to determine which projects should be implemented and how to utilize resources, including land, effectively.
He previously claimed that the state’s resources were monopolized by a select group of 13-14 political families who constantly shift parties to maintain their grip on power while enriching themselves at the state's expense.
