Chandigarh, Nov 29 (NationPress) Haryana's Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini stated on Saturday that the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat is more than a mere phrase; it embodies a commitment to transform India into a premier economic force in the 21st century.

The Chief Minister made these remarks during the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Conference held in Panchkula. He emphasized that the outcomes of this conference will inject fresh energy into the aspiration of “Viksit Bharat -- Viksit Haryana” (Developed India -- Developed Haryana).

He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims to elevate India to the status of a developed nation by 2047 and to establish a five-trillion-dollar economy by 2030.

“The core of Aatmanirbhar Bharat is rooted in self-sufficiency across sectors such as industry, agriculture, education, skills, technology, and trade,” he remarked.

He stated that the five foundational pillars outlined by the Prime Minister—Economy, Infrastructure, System, Demography, and Demand—currently serve as the robust framework for national development.

“Haryana is pivotal in fortifying all these pillars. The Prime Minister himself has referred to Haryana as the ‘Growth Engine of India’,” he added.

On the agricultural front, he mentioned that Haryana has been instrumental in achieving self-sufficiency in food grain production, and the state is now advocating for diversification towards pulses and oilseed cultivation.

Within the industrial domain, the “Haryana Aatmanirbhar Portal” is ensuring that entrepreneurs receive direct benefits from government initiatives.

Over 1.2 million MSMEs have provided employment to more than 6.5 million individuals, with approximately ₹400 crore in assistance dispensed under reforms aimed at enhancing the “Ease of Doing Business.”

He further mentioned that through the “Padma Programme,” industrial infrastructure is being developed at the cluster level in every block.

More than 1,100 redundant regulations have been rescinded across 48 departments to foster an industry-friendly climate.

In the last 11 years, 766,000 MSMEs have been established, creating over 3.9 million job opportunities.

Highlighting demography as a crucial pillar, the Chief Minister stated that the goal for Haryana is to cultivate youth who are job creators rather than job seekers.

Since the introduction of the Haryana Startup Policy 2022, over 9,500 startups have emerged in the state, with 22 startups recently receiving assistance amounting to ₹1.14 crore.
