Bhubaneswar, Nov 11 (NationPress) Following the tragic explosion in Delhi that resulted in the loss of numerous innocent lives, the Odisha Police have heightened security measures statewide, as confirmed by officials on Tuesday.
In a media briefing, Sanjay Kumar, the Additional Director General (ADG) of Police (Law and Order), stated, "All police personnel have been directed to exercise increased vigilance in crucial areas. Key installations, places of worship, and other sensitive regions throughout the state are under strict surveillance."
Enhanced monitoring protocols have been established in Bhubaneswar and other significant locales.
Preventive actions are being coordinated with national security agencies.
“While there have been no specific intelligence reports concerning Odisha, the state police are fully equipped to address any potential challenges,” Kumar emphasized.
Particular focus has been given to coastal security, with heightened scrutiny at airports, temples, and crowded public venues.
Special forces and advanced equipment have been deployed to bolster security frameworks in Bhubaneswar, Puri, and additional districts.
Security evaluations at entry points are being conducted with a combination of manual and electronic systems, although no suspicious activities have been observed thus far.
“Odisha remains a peaceful state. We urge residents not to fall for rumors or misinformation and to trust only official communication channels. The police remain dedicated to ensuring the safety of every citizen and upholding law and order across the state,” Kumar added.
On Monday, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi contacted the Odisha Director General of Police (DGP), Y.B. Khurania, to discuss the implementation of thorough security measures statewide.
The Chief Minister recommended that the Odisha Police stay fully vigilant, especially given the significant public festivals drawing large crowds, notably the ongoing renowned Bali Yatra festival in Cuttack and other regions of the state.
Chief Minister Majhi also instructed for security protocols to be further strengthened in all major cities and sensitive areas throughout the state.
The Odisha Police have amplified security protocols at critical and sensitive sites, including the historic Jagannath Temple in Puri, Hirakud Dam, railway stations, and various other vital public locations throughout the state.
