Saxena, instrumental in the conception and execution of several riverfront projects in the city, stated in a DDA release that the approved daily rental fees at Asita differ based on the type of lawn, with prices starting from Rs 40,000 and peaking at Rs 3.3 lakh.
“Multiple lawns at Asita are now open for public reservations, allowing individuals to book these spaces according to the respective daily rental rates,” the statement noted, indicating that these fees will include parking for up to 40 vehicles.
The specified rates and sizes for the lawns are as follows: Water Body Lawn at Rs 50,000 (1,560 sqm), Canna Lawn at Rs 1.40 lakh (2,860 sqm), Main Congregation Lawn at Rs 2.90 lakh (8,900 sqm), Budha Lawn at Rs 1.10 lakh (3,270 sqm), Surya Lawn at Rs 40,000 (800 sqm), Café Lawn at Rs 1.00 lakh (3,000 sqm), and Circular Lawn at Rs 3.30 lakh (13,720 sqm), as per the statement.
The DDA mentioned that a maximum of three days will be allowed for the setup and takedown of temporary eco-friendly tent structures. The Circular Lawn may be booked for a maximum of five days, according to the statement.
Cleaning fees will be charged at Rs 2.75 per sqm. Individuals may reserve one or more areas simultaneously, with elevated rates applicable for multiple area bookings.
All reservations must adhere to environmental and regulatory standards to ensure that activities enhance the public's experience of the Yamuna without disrupting its ecological integrity and comply strictly with guidelines set by the National Green Tribunal (NGT) and other relevant court directives, as stated by the DDA.
The Asita project, developed by the DDA, transformed a previously encroached and polluted area along the river into a revitalized landscape. Covering approximately 197 hectares near Laxmi Nagar in East Delhi, Asita aims to restore the ecological balance of the Yamuna and its floodplains.
This initiative provides essential green spaces for the city, featuring greenways along major roads, designated ecological zones, and a green buffer alongside the river channel.
