New Delhi, Dec 15 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi commenced a pivotal three-nation tour to Jordan, Ethiopia, and Oman on Monday, focusing on high-level discussions to bolster strategic partnerships. In his statement prior to departure, PM Modi emphasized that India has longstanding civilizational bonds and extensive modern bilateral relations with these nations.
The journey begins in Jordan, responding to an invitation from King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein, which coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
“During my visit, I will engage in comprehensive talks with His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein, H.E. Mr. Jafar Hassan, the Prime Minister of Jordan, and I am eager to meet with His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II,” he stated.
In Amman, PM Modi will connect with the Indian community, acknowledging their vital role in enhancing India–Jordan ties.
Following Jordan, the Prime Minister will head to Ethiopia at the invitation of Abiy Ahmed Ali, marking the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Ethiopia since 2011.
“Addis Ababa, as the headquarters of the African Union, has significant relevance. This year, during India’s G20 Presidency, the African Union joined as a permanent member. In Addis Ababa, I will have in-depth discussions with H.E. Dr. Abiy Ahmed Ali and will meet the Indian diaspora residing there,” PM Modi mentioned.
He will also address the Joint Session of Parliament, sharing insights on India's legacy as the “Mother of Democracy” and the potential contributions of the India–Ethiopia partnership to the Global South.
On the final segment of his journey, PM Modi will visit Oman. This marks his second visit to the nation, coinciding with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
In Muscat, PM Modi is set to engage in high-level discussions with the Sultan of Oman to enhance the Strategic Partnership and the robust economic and commercial ties between both nations.
“I will also speak to the Indian diaspora in Oman, who have played a significant role in the nation's growth and in strengthening our collaboration,” he concluded in his departure remarks.
