The 'Shaurya Yatra' is a ceremonial procession aimed at paying tribute to the numerous warriors who sacrificed their lives to protect the Somnath Temple.
As the sounds of the Damru, an instrument linked to Lord Shiva, resonated through the air, PM Modi was greeted by enthusiastic crowds lining the route, eager to see him.
Adoring fans showered him with flowers and cheered “Modi-Modi” in delight.
During the festivities, he took hold of the Damrus in both hands, playing it while raising his arms and flicking his wrist.
Artists from Rajasthan, Punjab, Manipur, Gujarat, and other states performed as the Prime Minister made his way through the procession, warmly greeting everyone he encountered.
Artists involved in the 'Shaurya Yatra' expressed their excitement for PM Modi's presence, sharing their joy with IANS about the opportunity to meet him.
“We are showcasing the Mayur dance here. Meeting him brings me immense joy,” shared one performer.
Another artist added, “The excitement is palpable because the Prime Minister is here. Being from Gujarat amplifies the enthusiasm, as evidenced by the large crowd present today.”
