New Delhi, Oct 10 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is poised to unveil and lay the groundwork for projects and initiatives exceeding Rs 42,000 crore in the agriculture and related sectors this Saturday.

Among the significant actions, PM Modi will introduce two key schemes in the agricultural domain, totaling Rs 35,440 crore. This includes the PM Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana, which is allocated Rs. 24,000 crore, as per the statement from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

“The scheme aims to boost agricultural productivity, promote crop diversification and sustainable practices, enhance post-harvest storage at the panchayat and block levels, improve irrigation systems, and provide long-term and short-term credit availability in selected 100 districts,” the PMO statement emphasized.

The Prime Minister will also announce the ‘Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses’ with an investment of Rs. 11,440 crore.

This mission seeks to elevate productivity levels of pulses, widen the area designated for pulse cultivation, bolster the entire value chain—covering procurement, storage, and processing—and minimize losses.

Furthermore, PM Modi will inaugurate and dedicate projects worth over Rs 5,450 crore in agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries, and food processing, while laying the foundation for additional projects valued at approximately Rs 815 crore.

He is also slated to engage in a specialized Krishi programme at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute in New Delhi, where he will interact with farmers and later address a public gathering.

“This programme highlights the Prime Minister’s unwavering commitment to farmer welfare, agricultural self-sufficiency, and the enhancement of rural infrastructure. It will emphasize the promotion of modern agricultural practices, support for farmers, and celebrate significant achievements in farmer-centric initiatives,” the PMO noted.

The projects being inaugurated by the Prime Minister encompass an Artificial Insemination Training Center in Bengaluru and J&K; Centre of Excellence in Amreli and Banas; the establishment of an IVF Lab in Assam under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission; Milk Powder Plants at Mehsana, Indore, and Bhilwara; and a Fish Feed Plant under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana at Tezpur, Assam, along with infrastructure for agro-processing clusters, integrated cold chains, and value addition infrastructure.

Additionally, the foundation stone for projects will be laid, including Integrated Cold Chain and Value Addition Infrastructure (Irradiation) in Krishna, Andhra Pradesh; Trout Fisheries in Uttarakhand; Integrated Aqua Park in Nagaland; Smart and Integrated Fishing Harbour in Karaikal, Puducherry; and a state-of-the-art Integrated Aquapark in Hirakud, Odisha, among others.

During the event, the Prime Minister will connect with farmers engaged in pulse cultivation who have gained from various government schemes designed to establish a value chain-based approach in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Fisheries.
