Ahmedabad, Oct 31 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Friday that the government will not cease its efforts until the nation is entirely liberated from Naxal-Maoist terror. This declaration was made during a significant assembly at Ekta Nagar as part of the grand festivities commemorating Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's 150th birth anniversary.
The Prime Minister's remarks coincided with the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations at the Statue of Unity, where millions of citizens across India took a pledge of unity, reaffirming their dedication to national integrity and solidarity.
While paying floral tributes to Sardar Patel, whom he referred to as “the architect of a united India,” PM Modi stated: “Devotion to Bharat Mata is the highest form of worship for every citizen.”
He emphasized the government's efforts to bolster the four pillars of unity: cultural integration, linguistic harmony, inclusive development, and national connectivity.
“Unity is the foundation of a nation’s strength,” he remarked. “As long as there is unity in society, the integrity of the nation remains secure. To realize the vision of Viksit Bharat, every conspiracy to divide the country must be overcome through the power of unity.”
Drawing parallels between Sardar Patel's unifying mission and the government’s development agenda, PM Modi noted that the Centre has lifted 25 crore people out of poverty over the past decade, fulfilling the Iron Man’s dream of an India free from want and inequality. He stressed that connectivity—of both hearts and infrastructure—is transforming modern India, linking every region of the country through highways, expressways, railways, and airports.
Reflecting on historical challenges, the Prime Minister mentioned that had Sardar Patel's advice regarding Kashmir been heeded, the region would have been “an inseparable part of India” from the start.
He criticized the previous governments for their “weak and shortsighted policies” that led to terrorism and separatism, stating that his administration has rectified those “historic mistakes” with decisive actions like the abrogation of Article 370.
Referring to Operation Sindoor, PM Modi declared that it demonstrated “if anyone dares to challenge India, we will respond with greater strength and determination each time.”
He affirmed that the elimination of Naxal-Maoist terror stands as one of the government's greatest achievements in national security over the past 11 years.
“Before 2014, Naxalites operated their own regimes in numerous regions. They dictated life and law, attacking schools, hospitals, and infrastructure. But today, the government has struck decisively—breaking their backbone, defeating their ideology, and liberating affected areas,” he said.
Standing at Ekta Nagar, PM Modi pledged: “Until the last trace of Naxal-Maoist terror is eradicated, this government will not rest.”
He also raised concerns about illegal infiltrators, labeling them a “serious internal security threat” who “distort demographics and exploit national resources.”
PM Modi criticized past governments for neglecting this issue for vote-bank politics but asserted that India has now taken a “decisive stand” through the newly introduced ‘Demography Mission’.
The Prime Minister condemned those “who prioritize self-interest over national interest” by supporting infiltrators, asserting they are willing to jeopardize the country's unity for political gain.
“On this Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, let us pledge to remove every infiltrator from Bharat to protect our unity and sovereignty,” he urged.
In conclusion, PM Modi stated: “When 140 crore Indians unite, even mountains yield. When we resonate in unison, it becomes the roar of India's success. We shall never be divided, never weakened—together we will forge a robust, developed, and self-reliant Bharat.”
