Agartala, Dec 9 (NationPress) Chief Minister Manik Saha stated on Tuesday that the support and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi have played a crucial role in advancing Tripura's development. He emphasized that the BJP government is dedicated to ensuring comprehensive progress throughout the state.
During a virtual event to inaugurate and lay the foundations for 18 projects in the Sepahijala and West Tripura districts from the newly established Sub-Divisional Magistrate's office in Sonamura, Saha highlighted that the administration is committed to the welfare of all communities, including future generations, to help them lead lives of dignity.
“The 35 years of Left governance had devastated the state, and the then Chief Minister (Manik Sarkar), despite being from this Sonamura sub-division, failed to foster the growth of the Sepahijala district. Nevertheless, with PM Modi's support, we are now focused on advancing the development of both the Sepahijala district and the entire state,” Saha remarked.
Saha announced that a total of 18 projects worth Rs 50 crore were inaugurated, which include seven focused on health, five on education, five on the revenue sector, and one pertaining to minority affairs.
“Without investing in infrastructure, the state's development will be stifled, and the vision of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas cannot be realized. Therefore, we have allocated Rs 7,000 crore in the budget for 2025-26 towards infrastructure enhancement. We now understand how the previous administration managed the state prior to the BJP assuming power in 2018. Today, we are experiencing a surge of development. To secure a brighter future, numerous schemes and projects are being launched,” he explained.
The Chief Minister pointed out that Tripura now holds the second position in the Northeast in terms of GSDP (Gross State Domestic Product) and per capita income.
Claiming a notable improvement in the law and order situation, Saha reiterated that the current government aims to construct a new Tripura based on Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.
“We must prioritize societal development, which is vital for Tripura's progress. We have introduced the Amar Sarkar (My Government) portal, CM Helpline, and Mukhyamantri Samipeshu, among other digital services, to ensure that residents encounter minimal difficulties and that we can address issues swiftly,” he stated.
He accused the former government of attempting to cling to power by creating obstacles, while the current administration is dedicated to resolving them.
“From 2018 to the present, we have created 20,184 government jobs, and our recruitment process is transparent and beyond reproach,” the Chief Minister asserted.
He also mentioned that many individuals and investors have shown interest in establishing private universities in Tripura.
Present at the event were Higher Education Minister Kishore Barman, Cooperation Minister Sukla Charan Noatia, MLAs Taffajal Hossain, Bindu Debnath, Antara Sarkar Deb, Sepahijala Zila Parishad Sabhadhipati Supriya Das Datta, District Magistrate Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal, and Superintendent of Police Bijoy Debbarma.
