Bhopal, June 4 (NationPress) The Pradhan Mantri Van Dhan Yojana (PMVDY) has proven to be a significant opportunity for women in the Betul district of Madhya Pradesh, many of whom were previously unemployed and confined to household duties or agricultural labor.

This initiative has empowered women to become Aatmanirbhar and manage their own expenses.

Remarkably, numerous women now contribute entirely to their family's finances following their employment. Currently, four Van Dhan centers have been established in the South Forest division of Betul district, each accommodating 300 women.

Several beneficiaries of the Van Dhan scheme shared their inspiring stories with IANS.

One beneficiary, Akanksha Rajput, expressed: "We were idle, but now we have gained meaningful employment. Our heartfelt thanks go to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this commendable initiative."

Another beneficiary, Poonam Gadge, expressed gratitude towards PM Modi for the scheme that provided them with essential machinery, enabling them to become Aatmanirbhar.

Gadge explained that clusters of 15 women have been formed to operate four types of machinery: grading, oil extraction, atta chakki (flour mill), and pattal (dried leaf plate).

Enthusiastically, a woman at the Van Dhan center demonstrated the functionality of a semi-automatic cold-pressed oil machine, revealing that it can yield 4-5 quintals of oil daily.

"We are grateful to PM Modi for this beneficial scheme," stated another participant, Phulwanti Negi Ramchoki.

When inquired about her earnings, Ramchoki mentioned she has just begun but is optimistic about generating a substantial income.

Thrilled about receiving an atta chakki, Lalita Vishone noted, "This scheme has greatly benefited us. It's truly commendable. Thank you, PM Modi."

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs initiated this scheme to enhance the livelihoods of tribal communities across the nation by offering skill training and capacity building.
