Amaravati, Nov 10 (NationPress) President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are set to participate in the centenary festivities of Sri Sathya Sai Baba at Puttaparthi in the Sri Sathya Sai district of Andhra Pradesh, as announced by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday.
During a review meeting for the arrangements, the Chief Minister indicated that Prime Minister Modi's attendance is scheduled for November 19, while President Murmu will be there on November 22.
CM Naidu emphasized the importance of making elaborate arrangements for the celebration, considering the anticipated large gatherings for the darshan of Satya Saibaba Samadhi. He urged officials to implement effective crowd management to prevent traffic congestion.
In light of the expected influx of visitors, he suggested organizing medical camps to cater to the needs of the crowds. A committee of Ministers has been established to oversee the arrangements in Puttaparthi.
Officials revealed that the Indian Railways plans to operate 65 special trains to Puttaparthi from November 13 to December 1. Additionally, 20 buses will be provided for transportation from the railway station to Prasanti Nilayam. They also assured that safe drinking water and restroom facilities would be made available.
Ministers S Savita, Satyakumar Yadav, Anam Ramnarayana Reddy, Anagani Satyaprasad, along with Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand, were present at the meeting.
Comprehensive arrangements are underway for the celebrations in Puttaparthi, where an estimated over 10 lakh devotees from across India and abroad, including VIPs and VVIPs, are expected to attend.
This event, recognized as a state festival, aims to showcase the cultural and spiritual heritage of Andhra Pradesh.
In a related note, the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust has also invited Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan to participate in the centenary celebrations.
The Managing Trustee of the trust, R.J. Rathnakar, conveyed the invitation formally during a meeting in New Delhi, where he also shared insights on the various humanitarian and spiritual initiatives undertaken by the trust.
According to the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, Radhakrishnan responded favorably and mentioned that his aunt has been a devotee since 1966. He expressed his recognition of the significant work being done and deeply appreciated the trust's commitment to upholding Sai Baba's teachings and legacy with diligence and passion.
