Bengaluru, Nov 12 (NationPress) In light of forecasts indicating an NDA triumph in the Bihar Assembly elections, the Karnataka BJP has asserted that the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, will accuse the opposition of vote theft once the results are unveiled.
During a press interaction in Bengaluru, R. Ashoka, the Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Assembly, remarked, "Polls suggest that the NDA is set to win in Bihar. Thus, it is almost a given that Rahul Gandhi will allege vote theft after the results are out."
He emphasized that the Bihar election holds significant prestige. Despite a rise in Naxal activities within the state, the voting process has been conducted smoothly this time.
Since Amit Shah took on the role of Home Minister, Naxal activities have reportedly been curtailed. Numerous organizations have conducted surveys estimating that the NDA is likely to regain power, with little support for the Congress alliance, Ashoka noted.
Post-election, he anticipates Rahul Gandhi will claim vote theft, citing Congress's ongoing decline under his leadership. The former Congress president has gained notoriety as the 'iron leg' in both Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, Ashoka added.
He also predicted that following the Bihar results, Rahul Gandhi would embark on an overseas trip. "While he neglects his responsibilities in the Lok Sabha, he also fails to support his party," Ashoka criticized.
On the topic of the recent bomb blast in Delhi, he stated that the central government is taking rigorous measures. An inquiry is necessary to determine how terrorists acquired mobile phones within Bengaluru Central Prison, but instead, an investigation is focusing on the video leak.
He urged the state government to adopt a firmer stance towards terrorism, criticizing a lenient approach towards Muslims.
Minister Priyank Kharge should refrain from looking to Delhi for solutions. He cited past failures during Mallikarjun Kharge's tenure as Home Minister, where Dalits suffered, questioning their moral authority to criticize Amit Shah.
According to Ashoka, the government is in a financial crisis, unable to provide salaries to its employees.
Farmers cultivating maize statewide are demanding the purchase of their crops at the minimum support price (MSP), but the government has yet to establish any purchasing centers. He warned that immediate action is necessary to avoid worsening conditions.
He also highlighted the plight of onion farmers facing price drops that fail to cover even labor costs, criticizing the government's inaction while the Chief Minister claims to support farmers.
